Leave the beach behind and discover another side of Khao Lak on an exciting ATV adventure through the countryside and jungle of Phang Nga. This Khao Lak ATV tour, also known as a quad bike tour, combines off-road trails, a Buddha viewpoint, a natural waterfall and panoramic views toward the Andaman Sea.
After pickup from your hotel anywhere in Khao Lak, travel about 30 minutes into the rural countryside to the ATV camp. Your instructors give a safety briefing, introduce the route and show you how to operate the ATV. First-time riders are welcome, with time to learn the controls before heading onto the trail. Two instructors ride with the group, one in front and one at the back.
Then start your ride of 1, 1.5 or 2 hours (same route, more time on the trails): climb forest tracks to a peaceful Buddha statue beside the first viewpoint, cool off at a jungle waterfall, and continue to a second viewpoint where, on especially clear days with calm seas, you may see toward the Similan Islands. Waterfall conditions vary with the season, and island views depend on the weather.
Finish on the open tracks of the plain, riding alongside your partner or fellow riders back to camp. Expect dust in dry weather and mud after rain, so wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. It’s one of the most fun things to do in Khao Lak for adventure lovers, and your quad bike day ends with a transfer back to your hotel.

Your first main stop is a Buddha statue beside a scenic viewpoint. Take a short break, enjoy the surrounding landscape and capture photos before continuing along the trail.
Ride on to a natural waterfall hidden in the countryside. Take some time to relax and cool down before getting back on your ATV. Water levels vary with the season and recent rainfall.
Continue to another viewpoint overlooking the countryside and the Andaman Sea. When visibility and sea conditions are especially good, you may be able to see toward the Similan Islands far offshore. There is time for photos before the downhill section.
Descend from the hills to the flatter countryside. The final section has more open terrain, where you can enjoy the ATV experience riding alongside your partner or fellow riders. Expect some dust in dry weather and mud when conditions are wet.
